The Rocky Horror Picture Show has many ties to Frankenstein. Dr. Frank-N-Furter represents Victor Frankenstein. Rocky represents the Creature. The ties are mainly in the fact that Dr.Frank-N-Furter brings Rocky back to life. However, there is some force (Dr. Scott/Eddie) that is against Dr. Frank-N-Furter. This is similar to the way that Frankenstein brings the creature to life. In the end, this brings an ending to the creator itself. Frankenstein dies in the end of the Novel and Dr. Frank-N-Furter was killed as he “failed his mission.” Frankenstein did as well as he did not think his Creature was fit to be in society. They are parallels, with a different situation placed.
This musical surrounds Brad and Janet, two lovers who try to go back to the place where they fell in love. They get lost in the woods, only to find themselves in front of a weird mansion. Brad and Janet are greeted by Magenta and Riff Raff, two people who are servants in the castle. They are seeking a phone to get directions to the Lab of Dr. Scott. However, they run into the Annual Transylvanian Convention. This is where they meet Dr. Frank-N-Furter, who has made a creature come back to life, Rocky. There was a celebration after the reveal of Rocky until Eddie, Dr.Frank-N-Furter’s ex-lover and current lover of Columbia, an attendee at the convention. Dr.Frank-N-Furter kills Eddie in a “mercy killing” for Rocky and then go to a bedroom. Brad and Janet are escorted to separate bedrooms. Dr. Frank-N-Furter poses as Brad and Janet, trying to seduce them. Janet leaves the room and finds Rocky. She becomes intimate with him in a way she never had before. Dr.Frank-N-Furter and Brad find that there is an intruder. Turns out, it was Dr. Scott. Frank-N-Furter thinks Brad is working with Dr. Scott, however this was not the case. In the end Frank-N-Furter, Riff Raff and Magenta turn out to be aliens. Frank-N-Furter and Columbia get killed and everyone departs.

I love the title & your comparison to the book and the show! it really does parallel but also both have their own twists and turns.

I love how you ended your post with everyone dying. I see the comparison between the book and the show, but the show seems to have a little less horror involved.

Great comparison as the show is definitely directly alluding to Frankenstein!
